We are excited to introduce this week’s guest!
She is a local KWEEN who grew up in Deseronto and currently lives in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. She has a wealth of knowledge about Indigenous people’s education, Indigenous food systems, Indigenous Peoples in Canada, and so much more!
No offence to our past guest but she is definitely the most educated person we have had on the pod. She holds: 📚Diploma of General Business from Fleming College
📚Diploma of Mohawk Language from Trent University
📚Bachelor of Education specializing in Aboriginal Teaching from Queen’s University
📚Bachelor of Indian/Native American Studies from Trent University
If that is not enough she is currently working on a Masters of Sustainability at Trent University. She has been a course instructor at Trent University, Loyalist College, and Fleming College, as well as an Indigenous Consultant. She is currently in Curriculum Development at the First National Technical Institute.
She is a mother, and grandmother, and is in the process of building a house! Katie had the honour of having her as a teacher at Fleming College, and she was honestly one of the best teachers. She is kind passionate and full of knowledge.
Ladies and gentlemen and everyone in between please enjoy our interview with Nikki Auten!
